Boys and Girls Club – Dundas
Seeking: $3000.00
At the BGC Clubhouse, we are committed to supporting our youth and their families, especially during these tough times when rising food and living costs are putting extra pressure on many. With the funding from this application, we would aim to address these needs by providing nutritious food options for our youth while simultaneously teaching them essential life skills. This approach will not only helps alleviate immediate food insecurity but also equips youth with cooking and budgeting skills they can use for life.
Primary focuses for this project:
- Immediate Food Relief: Many families in our community are struggling to provide healthy meals and snacks due to the increasing cost of living. By securing these funds, we will be able to provide nutritious snacks during our after-school programs. This ensures that our youth receive the necessary nutrients to support their physical growth, mental development, and overall well-being, relieving some of the financial strain on their families.
- Educational Support and Life Skills: In addition to providing food, we plan to use these resources to teach basic kitchen skills to our youth.
By equipping our teens with these essential skills, we prepare them for independent living and empower them to make informed decisions about their health and well-being as they transition into adulthood. This project not only provides immediate food relief but also helps build long-term resilience in our youth, fostering healthier futures for them and their families.
Funds used as follows:
- Food: $2000
- Materials: $200
- Appliances: $300
- Staffing Costs: $500
Chesterville and District Ag Society
Seeking: $10,000
Our project is the imperative need for the revitalization of our grandstand. The estimated cost for this vital project is $70,000. Our goal is to have the work completed before the 2025 fair weekend. It is crucial for the safety and comfort of our attendees, and it ensures that our fairgrounds continue to serve as a beacon of community spirit and togetherness.
To address this challenge, we have reached out to our community for support. We invite local businesses and individuals to partner with us by purchasing advertising spaces on and inside the grandstand. Through this program, we have raised 10,000$ and have many spaces left that we will be selling in the grandstands to reach our goal.
Together, we can make a lasting impact and secure the future of our beloved fairgrounds for generations to come. Your contribution of $10,000 will go a long way in helping us reach this goal.
Dundas County Hospice
Seeking: $2,500.00
Dundas County Hospice is seeking funding to purchase 2 transport wheelchairs and 2 regular wheelchairs as these are needed given that our existing inventory of wheelchairs has been depleted due to breakdowns and not being able to get anymore parts to repair. The cost of these replacement wheel chairs will be $2,500.00.
Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties
Seeking: $10,000.00
Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties is launching a new program to help keep low-income homeowners in their pre-existing, affordable homes safely and for longer. By 2025, the Critical Repair Program will be an integral part of our affordable housing portfolio. By definition, a critical repair is something essential for a resident to maintain a legal, safe, habitable home. Basic living costs are constantly rising, which only becomes harder for vulnerable populations with fixed and low incomes. Add in the necessity of a potentially unexpected repair, and a person’s living situation can become untenable, almost instantly.
Responding to community needs, we will offer local families and individuals the opportunity to complete crucial home repairs or accessibility modifications. This will improve living conditions and secure pre-existing affordable housing. This can be life changing by providing stability, safety and peace of mind. Local, low-income residents will be the main beneficiaries, including families, seniors, individuals, etc. Community benefit goes beyond the individual. As recipients becomes more resilient (financially, psychologically, socially, etc), previously used social resources may no longer be necessary, making those resources available for others.
As we prepare to launch this program, our goal is to complete 12 projects in 2025 (an average of 1 per month). Budgets will vary from project to project, based on user needs. Support from 100 Men Who Care North Dundas will support at least one North Dundas critical repair project. The total budget related to this project will not exceed $10,000.
House of Lazarus
Seeking: $10,000
Handyman Heroes is part of House of Lazarus Neighbours Helping Neighbours initiative, which was created to help maintain stability in the lives of those in need. The goal is to help with basic needs, such as transportation, housing, and food security. The Handyman Heroes project matches licensed tradespeople with families in need of home renovations or auto repairs that are urgent in nature. The volunteer professionals provide the labour, while House of Lazarus provides the parts and materials needed. This project, like most House of Lazarus projects, is only possible through the generous contributions of community volunteers, those who volunteer their time, energy and expertise, as well as those who contribute financially, in which we are currently in need of funding for this program so we are able to continue serving those in need in Dundas County.

We kindly request the consideration of100 Men Who Care North Dundas to join us in our annual awareness campaign to “Shine the Light” on intimate partner violence, which takes place across the province in November each year. North Dundas Christmas Fund
Seeking: $5,000
North Dundas Christmas Fund is a group of approx 12 volunteers who meet 3 or 4 times a year. We historically started as an avenue to provide snow suits for children but in the past 20 years the needs for food at Christmas time is paramount to making it a happy and healthy experience. We seek funds from the community, do food drives, work with other agencies of the township, place angel trees for gifts and have food and gifts delivered to us from the community.
Each year we give out app 150 food hampers to families from one person to six. This provides food for the table serving roughly 500 people. New snow suits are given free to anyone who requests one for children 13 and under and each year we supply app 100 suits to the needy of our community. We shop for suits after the season and keep inventory on hand to be able to have them available for the start of the winter. As we all know, the cost of food and clothing has risen sharply in the past few year making it increasingly difficult to meet the demand. We are requesting the opportunity to present our situation to The 100 Men Who Care group of North Dundas to help meet the need.
Winchester District Memorial Hospital
Seeking: $10,000
At Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH), having the right medical equipment is a necessary part of WDMH’s commitment to compassionate, excellent care for our community. While most of our equipment is relatively new, our Pigg-O-Stat is a bit of a throwback. This specialized piece of equipment helps immobilize wiggly infants aged 12 months or younger during x-ray procedures. Without it, even the tiniest wiggle can turn an X-ray into a blurry mess, making it tricky to accurately assess the lung fields and heart contour.
Our current Pigg-O-Stat is a bit of a relic, made of wood – yes wood! It poses challenges in terms of cleanliness and stability. While it is still doing its job, replacing it with a modern, plastic version will greatly improve infection control, reassure parents, and enhance the safety of the infants in our care. Since November 2022, this antique has helped care for 205 kiddos, proving that even old technology can be a hero. However, its age and wooden structure raise concerns about infection control and safety.
With your votes and gifts, we can retire this wooden marvel and bring in a new, high-tech Pigg-O-Stat that’s ready to meet the needs of today’s infants with a bit more pizzazz! This will not only improve infection control but will also reassure parents that their child will be cared for in a modern and stable piece of equipment. The estimated cost is $11,000, and we hope that the Men Who Care About North Dundas will consider $10,000 towards the Pigg-O-Stat.
